NGS Super has tapped a former AustralianSuper executive as its head of strategic partnerships as it reshuffles its sales team to support the fund's growth initiatives.

Carson McNamara brings over 20 years of financial services experience to the new position.

In this role, he will drive the growth of membership and funds under management through the acquisition of new employer default arrangements.

He joins from the country's largest asset owner, where he worked for nearly six years most recently as national manager adviser distribution.

McNamara has worked predominantly in the superannuation and financial advice sectors, including roles at the National Bank of Australia and MLC.

NGS has promoted two other staffers.

Following the elevation of Leanne Nunn last week to senior strategic partnership manager, Sophie Harris has taken up the role of client service manager.

Harris is a superannuation specialist who works with members, schools and staff to keep them well-informed and supported on all aspects of superannuation.

Previous roles include employer relationship manager at Care Super and client services manager at legalsuper.

She also spent five years at UCRF Super.

NGS chief executive Natalie Previtera said the appointments underlined the super fund's commitment to responsible and meaningful growth.

"As a leading super fund for education professionals, our aim is to provide employers and members with personalised services that are deeply relevant to them," she said.

"These appointments will help us strengthen our strategic partnerships and our client service offering that is critical to our growth strategy.

"The additional expertise and experience that has been added to the team will be directed towards enhancing and safeguarding members' financial futures."
