What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

Probably the opportunity to work with a new group of talented and motivated people. Tyndall and Nikko are both focused on developing a high quality, competitive Multi Asset offering and it is exciting being a part of that.

What skill do you think is paramount in working in the financial services industry?

Patience - like a broken clock, at some point in the day you will eventually be right.

Joking aside, I think it is dangerous to have a short term or impatient view. Whether it be with regards to an investment or a business decision, those with the capacity to be patient and ride out the turmoil tend to be rewarded.

If you could give advice to someone starting out in the industry what would it be?

Value your integrity. Managing other people's money is a non-trivial obligation. I believe if you treat that fiduciary responsibility with respect it makes it easier to make the appropriate decisions for investors and clients over the course of your career.

Would you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert? And why?

Is there a third option where you have episodes of both?

My wife would suggest it is because I am a Gemini, and I tend to think it is because I just don't like some people but I must admit I do go through periods of both introversion and extroversion. As I get older I am learning to control the Jekyll and Hyde.

What was your very first job?

I worked as a labourer before starting university. It was a great motivator to make sure I finished my degree and could find something else to do.
