Zurich names Head of Propositions

Zurich Australia (Zurich) has confirmed to Industry Moves the promotion of Tim Howell to the role of head of propositions, effective June 2017.

Howell, who has previously held senior actuarial roles with Zurich, was the firm's chief life actuary from April 2015 to June 2017.

According to Zurich, in his new role Howell is "accountable for the development of Zurich's life insurance and investment propositions - products and key services to support customers with contemporary and best-practice life insurance cover and investments."

He relocated to Zurich's Australian business in 2015 following a stint as director of the Actuarial Service Centre Asia Pacific based in Kuala Lumpur. Having established the centre in 2012, he led a team of actuarial professionals to support the life actuarial reporting for business units across the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to first joining Zurich in 2009, Howell held consulting and actuarial roles at Ernst & Young and Tower Australia (now TAL).

At Zurich he replaced Daniel Longden, who left the firm in June 2017.
