Former SSGA Head takes on new role with Zurich

Zurich Financial Services Australia (Zurich) has announced the appointment of Peter Mitchell to the role of national sales manager, retail risk.

In this role, Mitchell will be responsible for driving sales across Zurich's life insurance product range.

Mitchell's most recent role was with State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), where he was head of distribution and managing director. He left this position in March 2016 following a management restructure.

Prior to his time with SSGA, he worked at BT Investment Management in Sydney, where he was responsible for marketing the firm's equity fixed income and alternative strategies to investment consultants, endowments, foundations, corporate, public, and industry funds' superannuation plans.

Commenting on his appointment, Zurich's head of distribution - life and investments, Kristine Brooks, said: "Peter brings to our business a wealth of skills and knowledge across business development, service and relationship management."
