Zurich appoints former AIG CFO

Zurich has appointed Stuart Farquharson as CFO, general insurance, Australia & New Zealand, following the promotion in January 2016 of former CFO Raj Nanra to the role of CEO, general insurance, Australia & New Zealand

Farquharson joins from AIG where he was the CFO for Australia for more than six years. More recently he also had regional responsibility for South Asia, Greater China and Australasia. Prior to AIG, he held a number of senior roles including CFO with Citibank Australia, Manchester Unity Australia and Hollard Insurance Australia.

Commenting on the appointment, Raj Nanra, said: "Stuart Farquharson is joining us at an extremely exciting time as we implement our focused strategy. As well as his industry experience Stuart brings a strong track record of strategic and commercial leadership."

Farquharson will start with Zurich on 11 July 2016 and will be based in Sydney.
