Zurich appoints CEO General Insurance Aust & NZ

Zurich has appointed Raj Nanra as CEO, general insurance, Australia & New Zealand, reporting to Stuart A. Spencer, CEO, general insurance, Asia Pacific.

Nanra's appointment follows four months as interim CEO.

He has more than 25 years' experience in the Asia Pacific insurance and finance sector and was previously the CFO, general insurance for Zurich, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to that, he was the regional audit director, Asia Pacific for Zurich based in Hong Kong.

Before joining Zurich in 2013, Nanra worked for Ace Group, Asia-Pacific for seven years where he held a number of senior executive roles including CEO ACE Malaysia.

In announcing the appointment, Stuart A. Spencer said: "I am confident that Raj's experience, enthusiasm and leadership will continue to advance our business in Australia and New Zealand, one of Zurich's most vital and strategic markets in Asia Pacific. His appointment is also another clear example of the outstanding pool of talent Zurich has within its succession pipeline."
