WTW has announced the appointment of Sarah Pendred as head of due diligence and private equity.

Working in WTW's mergers and acquisitions team within the consultant's financial lines practice, Pendred will assess operational risk and liability for target companies.

She joins from Marsh McLennan, where she had a similar role - leading the due diligence team and working on many big deals, including mergers, acquisitions, divestments, public-private partnerships and project financing.

Before her four year stint with Marsh McLennan, she headed up environmental services Aon Risk Solutions and worked as a client account executive at both Milne Alexander and InterRisk Australia.

According to Steven Torresan, WTW head of mergers and acquisitions for financial lines, Pendred's appointment adds immeasurable value to WTW's clients especially given the unprecedented levels of M&A deal activity.

Torresan said she will play a key role in further building WTW's private equity capabilities.

"Through such activities as insurance due diligence, integration and 100 day plans, Sarah will assist private equity clients throughout their investment lifecycle and develop the very best risk mitigation and management strategies for their portfolios," he added.

"Along with her experience in due diligence, Sarah has considerable experience in general broking across a number of , including real estate, manufacturing, transport and logistics, retail, energy and power, and healthcare."
