Willis Towers Watson names Head of Australian Equities Research

Willis Towers Watson has announced the promotion of Leslie Mao to head of Australian equities research, effective immediately.

Mao has served as co-head of Australian equities research, alongside Ben Griffiths, for the last five months and takes on full responsibility for the team following Griffith's recent move to TCorp.

Mao has over 14 years' investment industry experience and moved to Sydney in 2015, having worked in Willis Towers Watson's Shanghai office for over nine years, leading the company's investment business in mainland China. Before joining Willis Towers Watson, Mao worked for Bank of America, researching both US equities and international equities managers for the bank's wealth management platforms.

Commenting on Mao's promotion at Willis Towers Watson, head of investment for Australasia, Martin Goss, said: "Leslie has a wealth of experience, having also been a member of our Asia Portfolio Construction Group and Greater China equities manager research team. His team will continue to provide strong coverage for this asset class."
