APPOINTMENT
WHEELHOUSE INVESTMENT PARTNERS PTY LTD
Date: March 2017
Position: Co-Founder & Trader/Analyst

Andrew MacLeod has co-founded Wheelhouse Partners with colleagues Alastair MacLeod and Sam Jacob, in partnership with boutique fund incubator, Bennelong Funds Management.

MacLeod will act as a trader/analyst for the new firm and contribute to all investment decisions regarding the derivative overlay design and execution.

MacLeod has 19 years' industry experience and was previously a trader/analyst and founding employee with UK global macro hedge fund, Brevan Howard. In this role, he was responsible for trade design, implementation strategy and execution across multiple asset classes including fixed income, FX, derivatives, futures, equities and commodities.

Wheelhouse Partners' initial offering, The Wheelhouse Global Equity Income Fund, was launched on 15 May 2017 with the aim of delivering "improved investment outcomes to Australian retirees".

Commenting on the new venture, co-founder and portfolio manager, Alastair MacLeod, said: "When Australians enter retirement, and have changed from accumulation to redemption mode, their investment objectives need to change too. Australians are fortunate to be living longer, which means investment strategies also need to change to minimise the risk of retirees outliving their savings, and the real-world outcomes that this represents."

"With Bennelong providing the distribution, marketing, compliance, finance and administrative support, we are free to focus our attention on investment management and positive outcomes for investors."

Bennelong CEO, Craig Bingham, added: "Alastair and his team have a strong background, and proven track record. Bennelong's reputation has been built on its success in identifying and partnering with quality asset managers, offering high-grade investments. Wheelhouse Partners fits this model perfectly."
