Westpac Group has announced that Craig Bright will succeed Dave Curran as chief information officer, effective December 2018.
Bright, who has 30 years' experience in technology and financial services, is currently the chief technology officer, global consumer banking at Citigroup.
He joined Citigroup in 2011, initially as managing director, responsible for strategic and operational leadership of infrastructure globally for the consumer bank, before his responsibilities were expanded to include production management and leadership of Citi's global data network.
Before Citigroup, he was global head of infrastructure and service delivery with Barclays, and spent nine years at National Australia Bank as CIO, investment banking and general manager, retail and business banking.
Commenting on his appointment, Westpac Group CEO, Brian Hartzer, said: "Throughout his career, [Craig] has been part of some of the world's leading banking transformation programs, and is now at the forefront of future-thinking on digital, mobile and data & analytics strategies for one of the world's largest banks."
He added: "I'm delighted that an individual of Craig's calibre will be joining our executive team."
