Westpac has appointed former Rio Tinto CFO and Transurban CEO Chris Lynch to their board.
"We are delighted to welcome Chris to the Board as we continue the process of Board and Executive renewal," said Westpac chair John McFarlane.
Lynch's most recent executive post was with Rio Tinto in London, leaving the position in September of 2018. He's held senior positions with BHP Billiton, and KAAL Australia.
"It is an honour to join the Board of Australia's oldest company," said Lynch. "A robust banking sector is essential for the Australian and Global economy. I look forward to working with John and the Board."
Lynch, who is a Fellow of CPA Australia, will also sit on the Westpac's audit and risk committees.
