Western Asset names new local client service and marketing head

Global fixed-income manager, Western Asset, has announced the promotion of client services executive, Jonathan Baird, to the role of head of Australia and New Zealand client service and marketing following the relocation of Michael Dale to the firm's Singapore office.

Baird, who will continue to report to Dale, will assume responsibility for the oversight of the Melbourne-based client service and marketing team. Additionally, he will retain responsibility for growing Western Asset's sub-advisory relationships within Australia and New Zealand.

Dale said of the succession: "The team is in a great position to build on the recent success. Jonathan is well-positioned to take on the additional oversight responsibility for the Australian-based team. His experience across a range of channels and extensive knowledge of the fixed income asset class, more than qualifies him to deliver on Western Asset's solution-based approach."

Stepping into the role of client services executive is James Metcalfe.
