Warakirri names portfolio manager to look after agricultural sector

Warakirri Asset Management has brought in ag investment specialist Steve Jarrott to look after the recently launched Warakirri Diversified Agriculture Fund.

With more than a decade of experience as portfolio manager with Westchester, the agriculture investment arm of the TIAA-Nuveen Group, Jarrott will support Warakirri's strategy and implementation needs.

Adrian Goonan, CEO of Warakirri Cropping and Diversified Agricultural Funds Management said they made the hire because of Jarrott's experience not only as a portfolio manager but working in this very specific space, including investment strategy, asset allocation, risk management, and ESG programs.

"Steve will be responsible for leading and building the Fund, including supporting future capital raising efforts, strategy refinement and implementation, asset acquisitions, portfolio management and reporting" said Adrian.

Warakirri Diversified Agriculture Fund is accepting commitments for Stage 1 fundraising, to a maximum of $100m. The organisation, founded in 1993, has approximately $2 billion FUM and commitments.
