VicSuper appoints CTO from AustralianSuper

VicSuper has confirmed to Industry Moves the appointment of Sandra Barns as chief technology officer, effective January 2018.

In this newly-created role - which follows the departure of chief information officer, Clare Tam, in December 2017 - Barns is responsible for technology strategy, operational systems and information security for the $20 billion fund.

She joins from AustralianSuper where she was previously the chief technology and security officer, a role she was first appointed to in January 2015. Prior to this, she held various roles with NAB, Goldman Sachs and Tabcorp.

Commenting to Industry Moves, VicSuper's CEO, Michael Dundon, said: "We're pleased to have Sandra join the VicSuper team. Her experience in driving technological change will allow us to continue to lead the way in the delivery of innovative member centric solutions."
