VicSuper has confirmed to Industry Moves the appointment of Sandra Barns as chief technology officer, effective January 2018.

In this newly-created role - which follows the departure of chief information officer, Clare Tam, in December 2017 - Barns is responsible for technology strategy, operational systems and information security for the $20 billion fund.

She joins from AustralianSuper where she was previously the chief technology and security officer, a role she was first appointed to in January 2015. Prior to this, she held various roles with NAB, Goldman Sachs and Tabcorp.
