VFMC recruits senior dealer

Andrew Malsem is joining the portfolio execution team at Victorian Funds Management Corporation as a senior dealer.

Reporting to Mark Thompson, head of portfolio execution, Malsem's prime responsibility will be the centralised dealing function across asset classes at the quasi-sovereign wealth fund.

He joins VFMC from Macquarie Asset Management, where he has held a range of roles during his ten years there, most recently as the senior dealer.

There, he was responsible for trading global cash equities, derivatives such as swaps, futures, options and FX/FX forwards across a range of global markets.

In 2012, Malsem began working at Macquarie as an operations manager.

His job was to implement an Excel/macro-based project that transformed critical investment valuation processes.

"Andrew has seamlessly integrated into the portfolio execution team. We are very pleased to have him join VFMC and broaden our internal dealing capabilities," said Thompson.

Malsem has a Bachelor of Applied Finance, a Diploma in Project Management and a Diploma in Information Technology.
