UniSuper has announced the appointment of Kevin Roadnight as the $80 billion fund's new chief operating officer, effective 18 November 2019.

In this role, Roadnight will lead the finance and legal & governance functions, working closely with chief executive officer Kevin O'Sullivan.

Roadnight most recently served as chief financial officer and company secretary at Vision Australia. Previously, he worked at NAB for over 20 years, holding a number of senior finance positions globally. He has also worked for ANZ and the State Superannuation Board of Victoria.

Commenting on his appointment, O'Sullivan said: "Following a comprehensive selection process I'm delighted to announce Kevin's appointment. His breadth of experience will be a real asset to UniSuper."

UniSuper announced in April that the fund had undertaken a review of its organisational structure and would appoint a COO as one of several changes to the executive leadership team. Other appointees to newly-created roles have included Anand Thomas, as chief strategy and marketing officer, and Anna Leibel, as chief technology & delivery officer.
