Trovio Group, the digital asset trader, has expanded its leadership team by hiring two market heavyweights who worked at Barclay's and Ellerston respectively.

James Hassett has joined as executive director and head of financial technology distribution, and Brian O'Sullivan has taken on the role of senior corporate advisor.

Trovio said the duo brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and extensive industry experience to Trovio and they will play pivotal roles in driving technological innovation and strategic partnerships and further strengthening Trovio's presence in the Asia Pacific.

Hassett is the former head of global FX trading and global emerging markets at Barclays and one of the bank's top foreign exchange trading executives in the Asia-Pacific.

He worked at the UK lender for more than 17 years.

During his tenure, Hassett held senior FX roles in London, Singapore and Sydney.

Throughout his career, he led international trading teams, drove substantial revenue growth, and introduced new products to the trading and sales platform.

Trovio said Hasset's extensive experience in markets, fintech, and digital assets will be instrumental in accelerating the firm's strategic initiatives.

Hasset added that he was thrilled to join Trovio and contribute to their mission of driving technological innovation and transforming the capital markets landscape.

Meantime, O'Sullivan brings over 30 years of experience across investment banking, funds management, and family office environments.

He spent 15 years at Ellerston Capital, nine of which were as chief executive.

He also served as a vice president of Zurich Capital for three years and senior vice president of BT Financial Group for eight years.

As a senior corporate advisor, O'Sullivan will support the co-heads of asset management, Vimal Gor and Jonathan Caldwell, leveraging his extensive expertise to drive strategic growth and enhance the capabilities of Trovio's asset management division.

Commenting on the two recruits,  Trovio chief executive Jon Deane said their expertise and experience will be instrumental in driving technological innovation and strategic growth in the industry.

"These key hires exemplify our commitment to delivering transformative solutions to our clients."

Deane stated that Trovio was at the forefront of technology solutions for environmental markets and commodity participants.

"Our proprietary systems, including CorTenX, a blockchain-based asset ledger, offer enhanced data enrichment, transparency, and immutability for asset transactions.

"We aim to address the growing demands for auditability and transparency across environmental assets and commodities, bringing visibility to fragmented markets and aligning asset values to their ESG properties."
