Towers Watson has appointed Ewan Taylor as a senior consultant within the Australian executive compensation team.

For the past 15 years, Taylor has been an adviser to the boards and remuneration committees of ASX-listed and other companies on all aspects of executive remuneration. Before that he spent 10 years advising trustee boards and companies on a wide range of superannuation-related matters.

He first became involved in the superannuation industry in the 1980s, as the inaugural company secretary of the Australian Retirement Fund (now part of AustralianSuper).

Commenting on Taylor's appointment, Towers Watson's head of executive compensation, Jon Finlay said: "With the emerging governance and market environment, superannuation funds need to ensure they are considering the right matters in determining competitive pay structures. Ewan's experience in the superannuation industry will be of enormous benefit in helping funds achieve good alignment between their pay design and their culture."
