A high-level staffer at Rest Super has switched from the investment team to the risk and governance division.

Rob Leck has been appointed to head of risk & compliance (investments), reporting to Stephanie Lyons, who recently joined Rest from Energy Industries Superannuation Scheme.

Leck is currently the senior manager, of total portfolio risk and regulatory modelling within Rest's investments team.

He will begin his new role in the risk and governance team on 16 October.

"Rob has strong expertise and experience in investment risk, and will bring a deep knowledge of Rest's investment framework and portfolios into this new role," said Gemma Kyle, Rest's chief risk officer.

"The recent appointments of leaders of Rob and Stephanie's calibre speaks to our determination to continually build the expertise within our risk and compliance area and ultimately help the fund enhance our members' interests."

Leck has almost 20 years of experience in the superannuation, asset management, and treasury spaces as a portfolio manager and quantitative specialist supporting the end-to-end investment process.

Before working at Rest, Leck was a senior portfolio manager of quantitative solutions within QSuper's Investment strategy team and earlier held a similar role at Cbus Super and Vanguard Australia.
