Actuaries Institute CEO to step down

The Actuaries Institute has announced the departure of its chief executive officer, David Bell, effective December 2017.

Bell joined the Actuaries Institute in January 2014 and prior to that was the general managing director, corporate for Ogilvy PR Australia and head of the Australian Bankers' Association.

Commenting on his departure, Actuaries Institute president, Jenny Lyon, said: "David has been an important part of the Institute and played an instrumental role in building our public profile. With his energy and insights, David has helped ensure that the Institute has a voice as a public policy advocate on key reform issues affecting Australian society and our economy such as those in the banking, insurance, health, big data, tax and superannuation/retirement incomes sectors."

Bell added: "It has been a privilege to lead the Institute over the past four years and work with a talented and highly motivated team as well as committed members including many senior executives."
