TelstraSuper promotes from within

TelstraSuper has promoted a long-standing investment professional to senior portfolio manager - asset allocation.

David Fong has been at the fund for Telstra employees for 12 years as a portfolio manager - strategy.

Previously he was a senior specialist at ASIC and a vice president at Citi.

The new job title reflects Fong's seniority.

"David's promotion to senior portfolio manager recognises the progression in David's skills and experience in portfolio management over more than a decade of service to TelstraSuper's members said chief investment officer Graeme Miller.

"In addition to providing valuable research, analysis and insights to support our asset allocation process, David is also responsible for managing TelstraSuper's rebalancing program that ensures the integrity of the fund's asset allocations."

Miller said a highlight of Fong's contribution is the proprietary rebalancing model he has developed, which has proven itself to be robust and reliable over several economic environments, including the Covid19 pandemic."
