TelstraSuper appointed EGM Technology

$19 billion super fund, TelstraSuper, has announced the appointment of Karen Symes as its new executive general manager technology, effective early February 2018.

Previously, Symes was the chief information and innovation officer at Guild Group, a role she held from 2010.

Symes has over 25 years' experience leading IT teams across the financial services sector. Prior to joining the Guild Group, she spent eight years as head of business systems and technology at Equity Trustees Limited.

Commenting on her appointment, TelstraSuper CEO, Chris Davies, said: "TelstraSuper has built an enviable reputation as an innovator and Karen Symes will be instrumental in supporting the organisation deliver critical and innovative solutions for our members."

He added: "Karen's proven ability to lead and transform technology programs is a real asset for our Fund."

At TelstraSuper she will replace David Calistro who leaves the fund in December this year.
