Schroders Investment Management has lost one of its most experienced fixed-income people.

Stuart Gray, the asset manager's head of credit research, has departed to join TCorp as the senior manager of defensive assets and credit.

TCorp is the investment and financial management partner of the New South Wales government and its investment management arm manages $107 billion in assets,

The recruit has over 22 years of experience in market analysis, investment strategy, asset allocation, risk budgeting, credit research and portfolio management of credit funds.

At Schroders, Gray was responsible for credit portfolio management of local credit assets, credit asset allocation views for various global credit markets and management of the local credit research function.

Before his eleven years with Schroders, he worked for Aberdeen Asset Management as a portfolio manager with the Australian fixed Income team for four years to 2011.

Earlier in his career, he spent seven years as vice president and credit analyst at Deutsche Asset Management.

Gray started at Westpac as a senior credit analyst.
