Synchron compliance GM to depart

Synchron's GM for legal, risk, and compliance, Michael Jones, will leave the organisation.

Jones was promoted to general manager in February after joining the organisation in 2016. He was previously the director of compliance for UBS Wealth Management Australia and held compliance management roles with IFM Investors and NAB.

Synchron director Don Trapnell says the organisation will shuffle responsibilities and bring aboard Hanna Abdullah as head of compliance for policy and regulatory.

"We have decided not to fill the role vacated by Michael, but instead to elevate both Heads of Compliance so that they report directly to the Synchron Board," Trapnell said. "We thank Michael for the valuable contribution he made to Synchron during his time with us. He leaves with our very best wishes."
