A former Equipsuper chief executive has joined the board of SuperFriend, the workplace mental health and well-being not-for-profit

Nick Vamvakas' appointment follows his tenure on the SuperFriend board since 2021.

In addition to heading Equipsuper, he has held executive positions at Cbus and ME Bank he is also the chair of the finance, risk and audit Committee of Football Victoria.

SuperFriend chief executive Darren Black said the new chair has a solid dedication to achieving positive outcomes for members and customers.

"He profoundly understands our organisation and industry. We strongly believe that Nicholas is the right person to lead the board as we position SuperFriend for its next stage of growth and development."

Vamvakas succeeds SuperFriend's outgoing chair, Elizabeth Proust.

SuperFriend acknowledged the exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to SuperFriend during her tenure.

On his appointment, Vamvakass added that he was greatly looking forward to continuing the important work of improving the mental health and safety of Australian workers.

"I am delighted to be allowed to work with a powerful group of directors to provide oversight, guidance and support to Darren Black and the team as we move the organisation to the next stage of its evolution," he added.
