Position: Executive Officer of Superannuation

Meagan Birch has confirmed her departure from Australian Ethical Investment, where she was executive officer of superannuation, effective January 2018.

Birch has since joined boutique consultancy firm, ST Consult, as a senior consultant. ST Consult specialises in governance, compliance and risk management and, according to the firm, with the introduction of Birch to the team, has "expanded its services to include the development and implementation of solutions in operational strategy and product development."

Birch first joined Australian Ethical in 2008 as a project manager and was promoted to executive officer of superannuation in 2013.

Prior to this, she held roles with Pillar Administration, AMP Capital Investors, GBST and Wilson HTM.

Commenting on her appointment, ST Consult founder, Simone Thompson, who is a former colleague of Birch, said: "I'm excited to be working with Meagan again. Her extensive experience working with super funds, pensions, managed funds and group insurance complements and broadens the services that ST Consult provides."

Birch added: "Working with ST Consult gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge and skills across the industry, and focus on the areas where I can provide the most value for clients."

At Australian Ethical she has been replaced by former head of product operations, Matthew Gahan, who took over from Birch when she commenced parental leave in June 2017.
