Stephen Merlicek joins Contango Global Growth board

George Boubouras, managing director and chief investment officer of Contango Asset Management, has announced the appointment of Stephen Merlicek as an independent director on the board of Contango Global Growth Ltd (ASX:CQG).

Earlier this year, Merlicek announced he will be retiring as chief investment officer (CIO) of IOOF on 30 June 2017. He was appointed to the role in October 2009 and prior to that spent ten years as CIO of Telstra Super.

Joining Merlicek on the CQG board is independent chair, Valentina Stojanovska; independent director, and former UBS and Macquarie Investment Banker, Michael Liu; director, and former MD and founder of CommSec, Paul Rickard; and director, and chief operating officer of Switzer Financial Group, Martin Switzer.

CQG has been established to invest in a diversified portfolio of globally listed quality high growth companies and has appointed Contango International Management Pty Ltd (ASX:CGA) as the manager. CGA has engaged independent, Californian based global investment manager, WCM Investment Management (WCM), as adviser to manage and invest the portfolio.
