New hire to manage Statewide's external financial advice channel

Statewide Super has confirmed to Industry Moves the appointment of Robert Burchell as product distribution manager, effective 3 April 2018.

In this role, Burchell will be responsible for managing the fund's external financial advice channel, which involves training, developing and monitoring independent financial advisers - in terms of service standard and product knowledge - and the recruitment of advisers.

Previously, he spent six years at Russell Investments as a regional manager for SA, WA and the NT, before departing the role in January 2018.

Prior to this, he held roles with Bridges Financial Group, Elders, Norwich Union and AMP.

Commenting on his appointment, Statewide Super's general manager, member engagement and marketing, Tony D'Alessandro, said: "Statewide Super is thrilled to bring someone of Rob's calibre on board to drive its IFA strategy."

He added: "Rob will be responsible for developing and monitoring the financial advice given to members to ensure we are giving our members what they need at every stage of their life."
