StatePlus, the financial planning arm of $84 billion fund First State Super, has confirmed to Industry Moves the resignation of chief client officer, Jason Andriessen, effective November 2017.

Andriessen's role encompasses product, advice solutions, marketing and client administration services.

After 18 years with the firm, he plans to "take a break and consider his next career move."

Commenting on his upcoming departure, StatePlus CEO, Graeme Arnott, said: "Jason has helped to shape significant business transformation at StatePlus. He has been a strong advocate for the importance of professional standards within our industry and has been spokesperson for the value and importance of financial planning within the broader community. Jason's contribution to the StatePlus executive and our broader team will be greatly missed."

Andriessen added: "After close to two decades at StatePlus, spanning 9 different roles, it's time for a change. I've seen the business transform from a traditional financial planning business to a best in class advice firm, and now a digitally enabled retirement solutions business."

"We've built our team over the last five years, and created a community of thought-leaders, experts in their respective fields. People I could learn from and who have inspired me to try harder every day. We've achieved a huge amount and I am very proud of what we've accomplished together."

A spokesperson said that the process to appoint Andriessen's replacement will be underway in due course.
