State Super has appointed Lisbeth Rasmussen, their former chief investment officer, to the organisation's board.

Rasmussen spent more than 25 years with SAS Trustee Corporation and State Super Financial Services in a variety of roles, including 18 months as chief investment officer, responsible for outcomes of the STC Pooled Fund, at the time worth $42 billion.

She also served as deputy CIO, head of strategy, investment specialist and investment manager.

Rasmussen briefly spent time as a director with Equipsuper and Togethr Trustees, the joint venture between Equipsuper and Catholic Super between 2018-2020 and is currently the CIO for the Coal Mining Industry Corporation.

State Super chair Nicholas Johnson said, "I am confident that her proven skills will help State Super maintain its superior investment performance and leading Member service standards even in today's highly challenging Superannuation environment."

Rasmussen said she felt privileged to join the State Super board. "My new role gives me an opportunity to use the experience of investment markets and knowledge of State Super to serve our members and stakeholders to the best of my ability.
