State Street GA hires QBE strategist

State Street Global Advisors has confirmed the appointment of Clive Maguchu as senior strategist.

Maguchu joins from QBE where he was most recently manager of investment strategy where he was responsible for translating research into strategic and tactical asset allocation recommendations for a $40 billion multi-currency investment portfolio.

He began his eleven year stint wth the insurance giant as an actuarial analyst in 2010, before being promoted to investment risk analyst two years later.

Earlier, Maguchu was a research consultant AquilaExec and a business analyst at BT Financial Group

He began his career at QBE as a portfolio analyst in 2003.

In a LinkedIn post, Maguchu acknowledged his CFA network who took the time to meet with him offer introductions, advice and encouragement during his job search.

"All of it was much appreciated and a reminder of the value of an active professional network. "Needless to say, I'm ready to reciprocate that kindness," he said.
