Sportsmed chief joins HESTA board

Sportsmed Hospital and Orthopaedics chief executive officer Alan Morrison has joined the board of health industry superannuation fund HESTA.

Morrison has a background in accounting, having spent more than 10 years with KPMG as a chartered accountant in the UK and Australia. He's also held auditing roles with Scottish Hydro Electric. During his more than 16 years with Sportsmed, Morrison has been chief financial officer and general manager for corporate services. He's been CEO for the last 10 years.

Morrison has also held board roles with the Australian Private Hospitals Association and Novita, a company that provides assistive technology for people with disabilities and their carers.

Morrison was appointed to the HESTA board in March of 2021.
