Spheria hires Schroders analyst

Small-cap analyst Daniel Peters has been reunited with former colleagues from Schroders Australia at Spheria Asset Management.

Peters has been appointed head of research at the specialist small and microcap investment management firm.

In the new role, he will work alongside former Schroders peers and Spheria co-founders Mathew Booker, Marcus Burns, and Adam Lund.

Peters joins from Schroders, where he worked as a senior research analyst for 13 years.

Earlier in his career, he was an analyst at Citigroup Asset Management and a manager researcher at Mercer Investment Consulting.

"We are thrilled to be reuniting with a former colleague who many of us at Spheria have worked alongside in the past," said Burns, who is Spheria co-founder and portfolio manager.

"In the small and microcap space, you can't overstate the value of thorough and innovative research, and we think Daniel can play a major role in the continued optimisation of our successful domestic and global research efforts," he concluded.

Also, this week,  Chris Boyd, the head of private wealth sales at Schroders has taken up a new role with an ASX-listed alternatives manager.
