Senior Relationship Manager departs Capital Group

Craig Matthew has confirmed his departure from Capital Group as director, institutional relationships, effective December 2016.

Matthew told Industry Moves that his departure comes following a review of the firm's institutional coverage model in Australia and that he is currently seeking new opportunities in the industry.

Matthew was involved in founding Capital Group's office in 2012 and said that it was a "pleasure to build up Capital's market presence in Australia over the last five years."

Prior to this, he spent 19 years working with AllianceBernstein in both New York and Sydney as a director of institutional relationships.

Commenting on his departure, Matthew said: "I am disappointed to part ways with the local team and firm, but we do so with a high level of goodwill, gratitude, and expectation to see each other frequently around the industry."

Capital Group senior vice president, Paul Hennessy, will take on the firm's existing clients.

Matthew added: "It's important to note that the Australian market remains a key priority for Capital Group and, led by Paul Hennessy and team, will continue to focus on the institutional market and wholesale marketplaces."
