Schroders Australia hires from Jarden

Schroders Australia has hired tech analyst Elise Kennedy, effective January 2024.

Reporting to report to the firm's head of research for Australian equities Justin Halliwell,  Kennedy will cover technology, healthcare providers/logistics, small-cap general retail, and office property trusts.

She joins Schroders from Jarden Research, where she has worked since January 2021.

Earlier Kennedy spent seven years with Morgan Stanley in several equity research sales and trading roles.

Halliwell said Australian equities have played a pivotal role in Schroders' Australian business since the 1960s.

"With a consistent track record of strong performance in our Australian Equity Core and Australian Equity Opportunities funds, as well as growing interest in our biodiversity and separately managed accounts strategies, we are well-positioned to consistently meet and exceed our clients' expectations across our domestic equity suite," he said.

"Against this backdrop, Elise is a welcome addition to the Schroders Australian equities team."

Halliwell noted that Kennedy was a top-rated analyst in several sectors on the Peter Lee and Asia Institutional Investor surveys.

The latest appointment follows the recent hire of Jennifer Odjugo as an equities analyst.

Her beat includes payments and finance companies, education, miscellaneous industrials and gold.
