Schroders hires equities specialist
Schroders has appointed Anne-Sophie Williams as investment director of its equities product team to help accelerate its biodiversity efforts and SMA development.
She joins from BlackRock, where she spent four years as an active equities product strategist.
Before that, Williams was an investment writer at Magellan Financial Group and worked in investment communications at QBE Insurance.
She started her career in financial services as an investment specialist at AXA Investment Managers.
In this role, Williams will work closely with the investment and solutions teams to design customised equity-based solutions, including accelerating Schroders' Australian equities biodiversity strategy and SMA development.
She will report to the head of product and solutions, Natalie Morcos.
"Her extensive asset class experience, in Australian equities, as well as global equities, fundamental and quantitative equities, fixed income, listed
infrastructure, and investment solutions, make her a good fit for the team," Morcos said.
The appointment follows the launch of the Schroder Australian Equity Long Short Fund last year.
It also follows the recent appointments of Adam Alexander and Ben Chan.
It also coincides with a strong performance for the Schroder Wholesale Australian
Equity Fund and Schroder Equity Opportunities Fund.
The funds returned 16.3 percent and 19.7 percent, respectively for the year to April 2022, net of fees.
