REST Super appoints GM Investments

REST Industry Super (REST) has announced the appointment of Brendan Casey as general manager investments, effective Monday 31 October.

In this role, Casey will be responsible for overseeing the investment governance functions and managing relationships with REST's asset consultant, custodian and external investment managers.

He joins from Suncorp Group where he was head of investment operations and control. Previous to this he held roles with CBA, Southern Cross Equities, Salomon Smith Barney/Citigroup.

Commenting on Casey's appointment, REST chief executive officer, Damian Hill, said that Casey's experience with leading global financial services brands and cultural fit made him the ideal candidate for the role.

Casey replaces Ronan Walsh who left the role in June 2016.
