JANA founder John Nolan is leaving the board investment committee at superannuation fund Rest.

Nolan joined the organisation after he retired from his client consulting work in 2003. He officially departed Rest at the end of September. "I wish to thank Mr Nolan for his enormous contribution over many years as a key member of the Investment Committee," said Rest chair Ken Marshman.

Nolan founded John A Nolan & Associates in 1987 (now JANA Investment Advisers), which was sold in 2000 to NAB. He founded Warakirri Asset Management in 1993 and retired as its MD in 2017.

Rest consolidated its investment operations earlier this year, bringing its wholly-owned investment arm, Super Investment Management, in-house, and appointed Andrew Lill as chief investment officer.

To round out its five-person investment committee, Rest has appointed Monash University Business School professor Deep Kapur, former Pendal CEO Michael Bargholz, and UBS MD Anne Anderson.
