The superannuation fund Rest has confirmed that Virginia Galloway has joined its investment team as a senior business manager, investments.

Galloway arrives from Fidelity International, where she most recently oversaw investment strategy and planning.

Based in the  UK, she shaped, planned, and executed the 3-year strategic investment business plan for the global investment chief communicating the business' overall vision and tracking short-term goals.

Before her 13-year career with Fidelity, Galloway worked at UBS as head of OTC product management.
Earlier, she spent six years at Deutsche Bank as a business analyst - three years in London and three in Sydney.

Galloway began her career in financial services as a portfolio analyst at Barclays Global Investors.

In a LinkedIn post, Galloway said she was "very excited" to share the news that she had started her new role at Rest.

"After my relocation back to Australia, I have been able to make a move into the Superannuation industry, from Asset management, and join an excellent team of professionals, who have a very strong culture, and provide inspiration,' she said.

"I look forward to this new and exciting journey in my career and to being a part of this fantastic firm working on the strategic initiatives for the investment team."
