Resolution Life Australasia has named Tim Tez as chief executive, succeeding Megan Beer, who will relocate to London as chief operating officer of the wider group next February.

Beer's move to London is part of the planned succession for the retirement of John Hele, who will continue to serve as president and chief operating officer for another year.

As group chief operating officer, Beer will oversee the development of global operations, including plans for acquired businesses.

In her new role, she will sit on the board of the group's key subsidiaries, including the Resolution Life Australasia board.

Before landing the top job at Resolution Life, Beer was chief executive of AMP Life for more than six years.

Earlier she spent three years at National Australia Bank and six years with Tower as a risk specialist.

The incoming chief executive Tez joins from Avant Mutual, where he is currently chief executive of its medical indemnity business.

Before that, he spent three years at AIA Australia as chief health insurance officer and the head of AIA Health Insurance.

"We are pleased with the development of the Australasian business and are certain that with Tim's expertise, experience, and leadership, Resolution Life will continue to grow as the leading in-force specialist life insurer in Australasia, said Clive Cowdery, executive chair of the Resolution Life Group.

The chair thanked Beer for the outstanding job she has done in successfully overseeing the transition from AMP to Resolution Life.

"We appreciate her willingness to take on greater responsibilities in our global organisation and look forward to her move to the new role," he said.

"I would also like to take the opportunity to thank John for his leadership during these last years of rapid growth for Resolution Life."
