Qualitas lawyer turns product guru

Qualitas has promoted its legal head to a newly created position within its products and investment team.

Daniel Mote  - who has led the legal and compliance function at the alternative real estate investment manager, has been appointed senior director of product solutions and investment.

In his four years with the firm, Daniel also has had general legal, enterprise risk and compliance responsibility for the firm providing core transaction execution assistance to the group.

Daniel has over 13 years of legal experience in banking and finance and funds management.

Before joining Qualitas, he was a senior associate in the banking and finance group of Arnold Bloch Leibler, the commercial law firm.

This will be a critical role as Qualitas continues to grow and evolve our range of products."

This appointment follows two senior hires to the firm's  capital team last month to support its rapid growth.

David Porter has joined the team as head of institutional capital, and Tom Keenan as head of international wholesale capital.

Porter, who joins from BlackRock Australia, will help build new and existing relationships with institutional clients.

Keenan joins from MLC Asset Management.

He will be responsible for capital raising in the private bank and multi-manager channel offshore and will oversee the commercial development of the client base.
