QIC creates new investment role

Queensland Investment Corporation has created a new position, hiring from within its own ranks.

Andrew Whittaker has accepted the role of senior portfolio manager, State Investments.

Previously, he  was a senior portfolio manager in the $92.4 billion superannuation pension fund's Liquid Market Group,

Reporting to report State Investments chief investment Officer Allison Hill and managing director Jonathan McLachlan, Whittaker is responsible for working on multi-asset class portfolios with a range of QIC's Queensland Government clients.

He can count nearly 15 years of portfolio management, strategy, and trading experience across global markets.

The Queensland Investor said Whittaker has delivered an inflation solution for one of QIC's largest Government Insurance Scheme clients and has been directly responsible for one of the country's largest externally managed insurance portfolios.

Whittaker commenced his new role in early January.
