Queensland Investment Corporation's infrastructure arm has created two new partners, promoting from within.

The state government investor said Michael Angelini and Arash Shojaie have been elevated to partner because of their expertise and commitment in speciality areas.

Shojaie has been with QIC Infrastructure for 11 years, having originally worked in the Brisbane and Sydney offices and then in New York for the past three years.

Before that, he did stints with UBS  and Goldman Sachs.

For his part, Angelini plays a key role in QIC Infrastructure's global portfolio and leads a team of dedicated legal resources across Australia, the US, and the UK.

He has over 24 years' experience as a corporate commercial lawyer in New York and Brisbane.

QIC head of global infrastructure Ross Israel said the promotion to partners further enhances the investor's long-standing leadership team.

"Arash has been a driving force in the origination, transaction execution and asset management across multiple infrastructure sectors in North America, including Generate and Renewa," Israel said.

"Michael has been with QIC Infrastructure for over 13 years and has shown exceptional acumen in leading the team's legal function for new investments, asset management initiatives and fundraising activities."

Israel added that the group now has 11 partners with an average of 28 years' industry experience and 11 years of tenure at QIC.

QIC Infrastructure comprises 87 specialists and 63 non-executive advisors across five offices in London, New York, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
