QIC principal returns from US to take on global private capital

QIC principal Stephen Whatmore, who set up the US division for the organisation, will return to Australia to take over the head of global private equity.

Whatmore joined QIC in 2008, and has looked after investments in private equity, venture capital, buyouts, secondaries and co-investments.

Before joining QIC, Whatmore was a partner at Longreef Capital and was an investment manager for MLC for more than 8 years.

He replaces Marcus Simpson, who is retiring after 15 years with QIC.
