QIC names investment director

QIC has appointed Zoe McHugh as investment director for state investments.

McHugh started in the role in April, working remotely. She will be responsible for the long term diversified fund (LTDF) and broader strategic initiatives to help the fund, "deliver strong investment outcomes for State Investment's Clients," a spokesperson for the fund told Industry Moves.

McHugh joined the fund from First State Super where she spent more than five years as a portfolio manager focusing on strategy and liquid alternatives. She also has experience as an interest rate strategist at ANZ, and spent several years in the UK as an investment analyst and investment manager at BS and Aberdeen Asset Management.

McHugh got her PhD in economics from the Queensland University of Technology.
