A former Lendlease and AMP Capital operative has been hired as director of QIC's real estate capital market.

In this newly created role, James Doneley will run the origination and connection of capital to real estate acquisitions across QIC Real Estate's funds and mandates.

He will also lead QIC Real Estate's capital transactions and investor relationships functions.

QIC said Doneley's deep understanding of the institutional real estate investor mandates will enable QIC to match capital with the product via pooled funds and separate account mandates.

In addition, he will source products - both properties and portfolios - and provide recommendations on pricing, strategy and execution, and manage the fund-raising process and activities to completion.

Doneley joins from Lendlease where he held a similar role as head of capital transactions and before that from AMP Capital.

He spent three years at AMP after moving from Lendlease where he was senior capital transactions manager between 2013 and 2017.

He will report to QIC Real Estate's deputy managing Director and head of funds management, David Asplin.

"We are thrilled to be able to welcome James to QIC," said Asplin.

His deep industry and investor knowledge will serve us very well as we work to continue to connect investor requirements with capital transactions."
