Product lead named at MLC Life

MLC Life Insurance has appointed experienced insurance executive Craig Harrison as its executive lead for the group's product, pricing, and proposition.

The appointment, along with promotion of Emily Wu as GM of fund partnerships and the hiring of Suzie Brown as GM of MLC Wealth and Corporate Partnerships, is part of a push by the organisation to expand its expertise in group insurance and partnerships to better serve superannuation funds and master trusts.

"Insurance inside superannuation is experiencing significant change in light of COVID-19, and we need to ensure we're providing the right support and expertise to superfunds as they navigate their way through this period," said MLC Life Insurance chief group insurance officer Sean Williamson. "Our goal is to play a larger role in the group insurance market and genuinely challenge the more established group insurers.

"To do this we need to build our expertise and partnership credentials, and we're thrilled to appoint Suzie, Craig and Emily to our team. They have partnered with some of largest industry and retail superannuation funds and know what it means to see issues through the lens of our funds, trustees and members."

Before joining AIA Australia as director of integration and program management in 2018, Harrison was the GM of life product and distribution at CommInsure and the head of direct life and general insurance at ANZ.

He also held senior roles at ING, CBA, and RSA.
