PPS Mutual expands NSW team

Specialist insurance company PPS Mutual has expanded its business development team in New South Wales.

Reporting to PPS state manager Sabrina Sequeira-Walmsley, Ivan Werner will look after forging strategic partnerships, driving sales initiatives, and managing key adviser relationships.

Werner spent 15 years at Genesis Advisory Services in South Africa before moving to private wealth firm Perlov & Associates as an executive financial adviser.

He was a business owner for seven years.

Sequeira-Walmsley said Werner's 18 years advising high net-worth individuals on risk, investments, fiduciary structures, and health and lifestyle rewards have equipped him with a unique perspective.
 "His active management of a successful team of financial planners at Genesis Advisory and his track record of exceeding sales targets, both individually and as a sales manager, demonstrated his drive and leadership skills.

"Werner's sales acumen and technical proficiency, combined with his integrity and work ethic, make him a great cultural fit with the PPS Mutual team."

The recruit is only the third business development manager PPS has hired in the last 18 months.

The firm hired a business development manager for Victoria last July and one for Queensland just over a year ago.

Sequeira-Walmsley explained that PPS Mutual maintained a high staff retention rate, but Werner's appointment was primarily driven by the company's growth and changing market dynamics.
