Platinum AM exec joins Watermark as Head of the Consumer Sector

Watermark Funds Management (Watermark) has announced the appointment of Ian Carmichael to the newly-created role of head of the consumer sector, effective April 2017.

Carmichael joins Watermark after five years with Platinum Asset Management, where he held roles as team leader and investment analyst, covering the Healthcare and Consumer sectors. Prior to commencing his career in investment markets, Carmichael worked as a chemical engineer with Montgomery Watson Harza and Cochlear.

Joining Carmichael at Watermark is Hamish Chalmers, who has been appointed as head of the financials sector, effective May 2017.

Commenting on the appointments, Watermark's CIO, Justin Braitling, said he was delighted to be able to attract such strong talent to the business.
