Amanda Gazal is joining Perpetual as their first chief operating officer.

Gazal comes to the firm from DWS Group in Singapore, an asset manager that's owned by Deutsche Bank, where she was the COO for Asia Pacific Distribution and COO for Singapore. She joined DWS from Deutsche Bank where she was the APAC COO.

Prior to her time with Deutsche, Gazal was the COO of European emerging market debt with Credit Suisse in Asia and London.

An Australian native, Gazal returns home to be based at Perpetual's Sydney head office.

Perpetual CEO and MD, Rob Adams, said that Gazal's appointment was a key one for the business as they focus on the strategic growth of the business. "The creation of the COO role as a result of our Operating Model Review underpins our strategy to diversify globally as we reposition ourselves and continue to invest for sustainable growth, seeking synergies and efficiencies across our lines of business."

Adams says he looks forward to adding Gazal's enterprise leadership capability and fresh perspective to the business. "Amanda's extensive global experience leading teams through times of regulatory change to improve governance and efficiency will be a great asset to Perpetual."

Gazal said that she's excited to join the Perpetual team. "Perpetual's long-standing heritage is well-respected in the industry and I am looking forward to the opportunities this new role will bring as the firm executes its growth strategy."
